APPRENTICE
DIVISION
The Apprentice Division is open to advanced intermediate to senior level dancers dancers age 12 & up. The aim of this division is to transition dancers into The Rhythm Ensemble's Pre-Professional Division. Dancers will have their own tap technique, improvisation, music theory, live music sessions, and history classes, as well as a combined choreography and historical repertoire class with Pre-Professional Division. Dancers also have the opportunity to work with various artists in residence. Interested dancers must audition for a spot in the company.
The Rhythm Ensemble program consists of a one year program, split into three term. Dancers do not need commit to the full year in order to participate in the program, but it is strongly recommended in order to maintain consistency in their training. Dancers must commit to (a) full term(s) and drop-ins will not be accepted. The terms are split as follows:
-
Term One: September- November
-
Term Two: December- February
-
Term Three: June- August
This program is a training only program, and performance opportunities will not be the focus of the Apprentice division, however there may be performance opportunities available. Priority for performances will be given to The Rhythm Ensemble's Pre-Professional division, however if more dancers are needed, apprentice dancers may be cast at the discretion of the director.
COST: $350 + HST
Families with multiple siblings in The Rhythm Ensemble will be eligible for our sibling discount.
